2. Group Essay Mapping Activity

Description: In small groups, students are given a sample
essay and asked to break it down into its structural
components. They should identify the thesis statement,
topic sentences, and supporting details, and map them out
on a large piece of paper.
Objective: To encourage collaborative learning and develop
analytical skills in identifying essay structure.
Assessment: Each group presents their essay map and
explains the relationship between each section of the essay.
