5. Essay Writing Journal
Description: Over the course of the chapter, students keep
a journal where they reflect on their understanding of essay
structure. Each entry should focus on one component (e.g.,
thesis statement, introduction) and include examples from
their own writing.
Objective: To encourage deeper reflection on the process of
building essays and improve self-directed learning skills.
Assessment: Journals are graded based on completeness,
depth of reflection, and understanding of essay
components.

These projects are designed to actively engage students with
essay structure, helping them to internalize the concepts and
apply them in practical and creative ways.
