The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education recognized the collaboration between
Murray State College and the Chickasaw Nation with a Regent’s Business Partnership Excellence
Award in 2016. On hand to receive the award was the Honorable Bill Anoatubby, Governor
of the Chickasaw Nation and an alumnus of Murray State College. In her nomination of
the Chickasaw Nation, President McDaniel outlined a variety of campus projects that could
not have been initiated and completed without support from Governor Anoatubby and
the Chickasaw Nation. Governor Anoatubby was born in Denison, Texas and arrived in
Tishomingo at an early age. He is a graduate of Tishomingo High School, Murray State College
and East Central University.

Award was presented to President McDaniel by Chancellor Glen
D. Johnson during a meeting of the Oklahoma State Regents for
