Arthur Hauser builds still lifes commenting on the complexity
and paradoxes of our existence. This piece explores the tension
between celebration and decay, beauty and revulsion. The cake—
a symbol of joy—becomes compromised by the unwelcome.
Considering Plato’s perfect form, manifested in the shape of a cake,
Dessert transforms into meditation on how life can be invaded by
forces beyond our control.

킬더프(Kilduff)는 영국 출신의 작가로, 현재 대한민국 서울에 거주하고 있습니다. 베트남,
태국, 프랑스, 영국, 서울 등지에서 전시와 큐레이션 활동을 병행해왔습니다. 킬더프의 작
업은 개념적이며, 감정의 정화와 내면의 전환 과정을 중심으로 전개됩니다. 주요 주제는
외상 후 성장, 우주적 연결성, 사랑, 상실, 그리고 재탄생입니다. 아크릴, 수채화, 디지털 미
디어, 퍼포먼스, 콜라주, 일러스트, 필사 등 다양한 매체를 넘나들며 작업합니다. 또한 패
션 업계의 주요 디자이너들과의 협업을 포함한 다학제적 접근을 실천하고 있습니다. 킬더
프의 예술은 공동체적 슬픔에 대한 성찰, 공유된 고통의 따스함, 그리고 생존 이후 삶의 찬
란한 기쁨을 환기시킵니다. 출품작 《태풍의 신: 이 고통은 당신 것이 아니었다》는 2023
년 일본 교토에서의 초월적 경험을 바탕으로, 슬픔과 상실, 용서와 사랑을 구현한 작품입
니다.

Kilduff is a UK-born artist based in Seoul, South Korea. They have both
curated and exhibited internationally in Vietnam, Thailand, France, the UK,
and Seoul. Their work is conceptual and process-based, rooted in catharsis
and emotional transformation. Themes include post-traumatic growth, cosmic
interconnectedness, love, loss, and rebirth. They work across acrylic, watercolor,
digital media, performance, collage, illustration, and text. Their interdisciplinary
approach also includes collaborations with leading designers in the fashion
industry. Kilduff’s art invites reflection on community grief, the warmth of pain
shared, and the luminous joys of life upon survival. The submitted piece, ‘Deity of
the Typhoon: This Pain Was Never Yours,’ reflects an embodiment of grief, loss, This Pain Was Never Yours 41x32cm Acrylic on canvas
forgiveness, and love following a transcendental experience in Kyoto, Japan, in
2023.
