The story of copperplate works
The technique of Korean painting is applied to the copper plate with
acrylic paints. The copper plate has a smooth touch and is not absorbed
well. The paint will rise only when the bottom of the copper plate is
ground with sandpaper and the surface is roughened.
Copper is a very beneficial metal in our lives through ancient times. This
is true from the Bronze Age to the modern industrial society. In addition,
the copper plate covered with the roof of an old European building is
highly regarded as an art object for its decaying change process and its
beautiful colors after decay.
Nasturtium is a flower that reminds me of longing and nostalgia for my
parents because it always bloomed in my garden when I was young.
When you draw a vein that spreads out in all directions on the round
leaves of nasturtium and lotus, the power springs up and you instantly
feel the spirit of Lotus World.
The pots contain the persistence and craftsmanship that have kept our
ancestors' 5000-year history, and in my paintings, pots provide a source
of life, such as supplying nutrients to the roots and stems of nasturtiums.
If you look at the corroded side of the copper plate, it seems like the
chaos of Genesis, and you seem to see the ever-changing modern group
image.
My art world depicts beautiful nasturtium and lotus on a copper plate
with the spirit of reincarnation in Buddhism, the historical consciousness
that emerged from the coexistence of the past and the present, and the
creation of new things and the fusion and development of decayed old
things, while aiming for love and peace. I did it.
