Ok-nam Kim was born in Gangneung, Korea. After briefly
serving as a teacher, he graduated from the Seoul Institute of
the Arts. Recognized as one of Korea’s leading illustrators in
the 1980s, Kim was inducted into the Society of Illustrators’
Hall of Fame (New York, 1992).
