역사의 물결은 종종 부조리하게 흘러가서, 인간이 자신의 바람과 상반된 결과를 선택하는 모순된 상황을 만들어내
곤 합니다. 이 작품은 나에게 ‘인간역사의 아이러니’를 나타내는 이미지입니다. 혁명을 꿈꾸다 죽음으로 걸어들어가
는 인물들을 묘사한 앙드레 말로의 <인간조건>이 연상되는 이유입니다.
The waves of history often flow absurdly, creating contradictory situations in which humans choose outcomes
that run counter to their wishes. To me, this work is an image that represents the ‘irony of human history.’
This is why it reminds me of André Malraux’s “The Human Condition,” which depicts characters who dream of
revolution but walk toward death.
