Our Goal
Since 1997, the goal of New Life Christian Academy and Prep has remained the same: we
will not lose one child to the world.
Our mission is to provide each student with a strong academic foundation in a Christian
environment while training children in the Word of God. We believe education must develop the
whole child — spiritually, academically, socially, physically, and emotionally.
At NLCA&PS, we believe in the three dimensions of life:
Knowledge: Children must learn to think carefully.
Understanding: Children must learn to act responsibly.
Wisdom: Children must learn to live wisely.
Our desire is for every student to be challenged academically, confident socially, prepared
physically, established spiritually in God’s Word, and ready to lead.
We believe three institutions are essential in developing successful citizens: the family, the
church, and the school. When these three work together, the result is a well-rounded individual
prepared for life, leadership, and purpose.
New Life Christian Academy Expands for 2026–2027
With a Focus on Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, and Student Voice from K–College/Career
New Life Christian Academy is expanding for the 2026–2027 academic year with a compre-
hensive educational model designed to equip students from kindergarten through college and career
pathways with the skills, confidence, and purpose needed to succeed.
Through a unique blend of academics, entrepreneurship, agriculture, communication, cultural
identity, and faith, NLCA is redefining what it means to prepare students for the future.
Expansion with a K–College/Career Vision
As part of its expansion, NLCA is strengthening its commitment to a K–College/Career
pipeline, ensuring that students are prepared at every stage of their educational journey.
Key enhancements include:
Early exposure to career exploration and leadership development
Structured pathways from elementary through high school
Opportunities for real-world application and skill-building
A focus on both college readiness and career success
“Our goal is to ensure that every student leaves NLCA prepared — not just for the next
grade, but for life,” said founder Dr. Norma T. McLauchlin.
Agriculture with Purpose: Feeding Families, Teaching Science
NLCA’s agriculture program continues to grow as one of the defining features of the school.
Students participate in hands-on gardening experiences that teach science, sustainability, responsi-
bility, and service.
Produce grown by students is used to support and feed families, allowing students to see
firsthand how education can become ministry, and how learning can serve the community.
Entrepreneurship: From Ideas to Impact
Students are introduced to entrepreneurship at an early age. They learn how to create and
develop business ideas, understand basic financial principles, present products and services, and
connect creativity with purpose.
This approach helps students build confidence, communication skills, leadership ability, and
practical knowledge for the future.
Writing, Speaking, and Publishing Student Voice
At NLCA, students are taught to write, speak, publish, and present their work with confi-
dence. Opportunities include student-authored books, presentations, showcases, and classroom
projects that allow students to share their ideas and strengthen their voices.
We believe every child has something meaningful to say, and NLCA provides the environ-
ment for students to develop that voice with excellence.
Academic Excellence with Real-World Application
NLCA provides small class sizes, individualized instruction, and project-based learning. Stu-
dents are encouraged to apply knowledge in meaningful, practical ways that prepare them for
school, work, ministry, and life.
Weekly Chapel: A Foundation of Faith
Each week, students and guests gather for chapel led by Pastor Allen McLauchlin, Superin-
tendent of New Life Christian Academy and Prep. Chapel reinforces spiritual growth, leadership,
character, and purpose.
Culture, Identity, and Confidence
NLCA integrates African American history and cultural identity across subject areas, em-
powering students with confidence, awareness, and pride in who they are. The school is committed
to building leaders, voices, and legacies.
“We are raising students who can think, communicate, create, and serve — students who are
prepared for college, career, and God’s calling,” said Dr. Norma T. McLauchlin.
Families are invited to explore a school where students grow into leaders with voice, purpose,
direction, and faith.
