MAP Events








    Webinar
    On   April   19,   MAP   held   a   webinar   entitled   "Road   to   Mental
    Wellness  for  Every  Juan,  Mapping  Pathways  on  Mental  Health
    for Every Filipino". This webinar aimed to define mental health
    and  wellness,  to  spark  conversation  about  mental  disorders  in
    the   context   of   the   Filipino   culture,   to   encourage   validation
    and   alleviation   measures,   and   ultimately,   to   encourage   the
    promotion   and   prioritization   of   mental   health   for   each   and
    every Filipino.


    The   webinar   was   organized    by   MAP   interns,   with   Mello
    Yukdawan  as  resource  speaker  and  Kezia  Viray  as  moderator.
    Lee   Calison   and   Philemon   Gonotee   acted   as   game   masters,
    while Rhea Orozco handled the Q&A portion.


    The   event   was   attended   by   over   260   participants   including
    students   from   Emilio   Aguinaldo    College    and   Adamson
    University,   as   well   as   government     organizations    and
    individuals  across  the  entire  archipelago.  The  audience  were
    very      appreciative   of   the   well-organized,   informative   and
    comprehensive     content   which   is   very   timely   and   relevant
    during  these  times,  and  expressed  interest  in  attending  more
    webinars on mental health soon.




                                             Plenary Session

                                             On  September  29,  MAP  interns  attended  a  plenary  session  on  the
                                             Mental   Health   and   Wellness   Center   (MHWC)*   with   Dr.   Arthur
                                             Tolentino.


                                             Dr.   Art   is   the   Founder   and   Clinical   Director   of   Pathways   Mental
                                             Health  Services,  and  the  Program  Developer  of  the  Mental  Health
                                             First   Response   (MHFR).   The   MHFR   is   a   mental   health   crisis   skills
                                             prevention  and  intervention  workshop  for  adults  and  the  general
                                             public  who  want  to  gain  valuable  skills  in  mental  health  concerns,
                                             suicide   intervention,   and   prevention.   Those   who   successfully
                                             complete  the  course  will  be  certified  first  responders  for  a  period
                                             of three years. MAP students are taking this course as part of their
                                             internship.


                                             In  addition  to  the  MAP  interns,  the  plenary  session  was  attended
                                             by  Dr.  Marjorie  Tangog,  Vice-President  for  Academic  Affairs  and
                                             Dean   of   the   Graduate   Studies,   Dr.   Ruel   Cajili,   Dean   of   the
                                             College of Psychology, Ms. Belen Mandin, Head of CAPS, Dr. Juliet
                                             Catungal,  Guidance  Counselor  for  Basic  Education,  and  Dr.  Sam
                                             Galvez  and  Ms.  Dee  Imperio  who  are  members  of  the  College  of
                                             Psychology faculty.
