ANI AT SINING
Words: Erika Mae General
In efforts to support Comercio de Arte,
which is an art auction organized by students of
MMA 4, Ani at Sining was held on May 21, 2021.
Ani at Sining is an online art contest that aims
to promote local farmers through the mediums
of art that were submitted. These submissions
served as artworks to be sold for the art auction.
The event participants were students of AB
Communication and AB Multimedia Arts. As we
got into it, I had the chance to chat with Adriel
Limos of MMA 4 as he gave a rundown of the
event.
Adie said that the event was needed
to ensure that a variety of mediums were
available for the upcoming art auction. Adi
also noted down how they put extra effort in
promoting and organizing the event through
Google Classroom and Facebook. Adi served
as a manager for the participants during the
competition and transitioned to managing video
footage and event awarding. Adi also noted that
apart from their end goals, his batch just wanted
people to participate in giving out their opinions
concerning the issues that farmers are immersed
in.
Adie also noted a specific challenge for
the event itself.
“Managing the participants and having
to realize you need information about the
participants during the contest period was hard,
but I learned that changing platforms such as
making a group chat for them made it easier to
contact them” said Adi.
Adi also noted that he wished he
improved in some areas more. He told me a
story about the contest wherein preparation and
anticipating issues is key. He also took notice of
the relevance of video footage and how it should
be talked about or distributed more. All in all, Ani
at Sining served its purpose and paved the way
for a successful art auction by MMA 4’s Exhibit
and Multimedia Business class.
