Series
Words: Bea Guevara
It was a lot of fun and a terrific learning atmosphere
to have two back-to-back online events led by SISC’s College
of IT. The 1st IN2ITION Workshop Series, the second big event
during the IT Week held on May 7th 2021, featured three
segments and three speakers, each with a unique topic.
Mr. Elmer Damaso opened the session by discussing
“Digital Artwork and How it Compares to Traditional Art
Today.” He presented the audience to the numerous notable
comics and works he has developed and done, including one
named “Culture Crash” and one titled “Horizon Zero Liberation
Comics” that he is currently working on today. He then gave a
plethora of insights and guidance for other artists like himself.
He addressed questions while showcasing off his amazing
drawing talents to the audience. Everyone was astounded by
the techniques and methods used in creating his art.
For the 2nd part of the event, SISC BSIT alumnus Carl
John Dennis Aguinaldo presented “Hosting Web Apps in the
AWS Cloud.” He expressed his frustrations during the times
as a student when he would build applications but did not
know how to put it out there. Which inspired him to impart
his knowledge to the audience after gaining much more
experience. In his presentation he discusses much about AWS
and demonstrates how to host your own application into the
cloud using AWS EC2. He offered a foundation for the students
to use the full capability of AWS Cloud Services which will
benefit them in the future.
Lastly, for the 3rd part of the event, the audience were
