ABSTRACT
The Apayao State College – Main Campus Library uses the manual system of managing and
administering the library. Transactions in the library are operated manually with the use of
logbooks, book cards and library cards. It is tedious work on the part of the librarian and the staff
to manage daily transactions in the library. In addition to this, data which the librarians compile
usually is not accurate because borrowers sometimes do not log in the logbook. The research
design employed in this study is the descriptive and developmental design. Descriptive design
describes the assessment of the respondents regarding the existing library manual transactions
and the proposed library system. Developmental design describes the development of the
proposed system that are based on the needs and specification of the library staffs that provides a
Web-based library system of Apayao State College-Main Campus. Rapid Application
Development was used for the development of the proposed system. The developed Web–Based
Library System for Apayao State College is an online interactive system of administering the
college library. The system is designed to improve at the same time broaden library access in
order to free the limits of the college library and to reach out to users even at longer distance.
The system can do online reservation, online cataloging, Online Public Access Cataloguing
(OPAC), creating and logging in to a user account and generating reports.
