ABOUT:
Having known Shanice for three years, I can tell you without a doubt that she is one of the most
genuine people you will ever meet. At first glance, she might look intimidating and a bit cold, but
get to know her and you’ll find the funniest and warmest person. She is always ready to dance up a
storm and leaves me in awe of her moves and wishing I didn’t have two left feet. She has also been
my mom away from home, ensuring I wake up in time for class, and even nagging me to eat my
vegetables. She is as caring as she is goofy, and she is vibrant which says a lot. Legend has it that if
you take your camera out and chant her name, she will appear ready with the most dazzling smile.
For someone with so much energy, it is only natural that she also has the talent to use it most
efficiently. Give her a task and you can see the gears in her head turn to make sure it gets done
perfectly. She works hard and she works fast. There isn’t a deadline that she can’t make. She has the
ability to make even the most tedious work entertaining and is always open to hearing new ideas
and assimilating them. Given all of her qualities, being the General Secretary was definitely the
perfect fit for her. I’m just upset that it wasn’t a normal year with the other annual programmes
because I know she would have done a wonderful job leading the Welfare Committee through it all.
Saying I could go on for many more pages about her would be a lie because I can’t seem to put into
words how amazing of a person she is or what she means to me. I really am lucky to call Shanice Ria
Noronha my best friend.

EXPERIENCE:
The seed of keen interest in me to be a part of the Student Council, especially as the General
Secretary, was sown right in the beginning of my first semester. This was when I had shared a
conversation with the General Secretary of Student Council during my first academic year and
had seen her fulfill her responsibilities. I was filled with intrigue and the only thought that flashed
through my mind at that time was, ‘I want to do this too.’ And this is how it all began. Being in the
Student Council for this academic year amidst the pandemic, I would say that this was a unique
experience for all as we indulged ourselves in activities that were conducted online as well as
offline. It was much of a challenge to adopt for all of us. Nevertheless, as a Council, we dealt with
the challenge in the most innovative way. As the General Secretary, organizing online events put my
technical skills and creativity to the test. Furthermore, being in this position has refined me as an
individual and boosted my self-awareness. I have grown in different areas and now I find
myself more assertive, as I’m equipped for my journey ahead. Lastly, I could not have asked for such
amazing fellow Council members and Council heads without whom this journey would have been
incomplete. I’m truly glad and blessed to be a part of a team with individuals so sharp-witted, with a
whole lot of artistry and no end of empathy.
