Benefit Election Changes

During Open Enrollment Period

At any time during the Open Enrollment period, you can return to Empyrean and make changes to

your selections. Once the Open Enrollment Period has closed, you and your family members will be

enrolled in your selected plans and coverage will go into effect for the new benefits plan year.

When Experiencing a Qualifying Life Event 1

You can re-enter the system at any time throughout the year to report any significant “life events,”
such as marriage or the birth of a child, which may allow for a change to your benefits or Flexible

Spending Account (FSA) elections.

• Go to your marketplace’s Home page and click

“CHANGE YOUR CURRENT BENEFITS” .

• Select Life Event type and click the appropriate radio
button

• Enter the date the life event occurred
• Please be sure to have documentation (i.e. birth,

marriage certificate, etc.) on hand

NOTE: You have 30 days from the date of the event to

submit AND provide the supporting documentation
in Empryean.

Note for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)

You may elect to change the amount you allocate to your HSA at any time throughout the year
without experiencing a qualifying life event.

1 If you experience a qualifying life event and wish to make changes to your benefit elections you must visit the Empyrean portal
within 30 days from the date the event occurred. If you do not visit the Empyrean portal within 30 days and update your
benefits, you will be required to wait until the next Open Enrollment period or until you experience another qualifying life event
to make benefit changes.
