Chukchansi Getaway
Join our next trip to the Chukchansi casino on Friday, Aug. 24.
The cost is $17, which includes $10 free play and $5 lunch buffet with photo ID. To sign up, come to the Phil Hudson Senior Room at the Reedley Senior Center on weekdays, 9 a.m. to noon. You'll also have to sign a waiver form. The center is at 100 N. East Ave.
Early registration for Reedley seniors is now open. Open enrollment starts July 30.
Payment accepted through check or money or- der made to the City of Reed- ley. The trip is sponsored by the Reedley Community Ser- vices Department.

Senior Center Lunches
Meals taste so much bet- ter when you enjoy them with others! Join us in the Phil Hudson Senior Room weekdays at 11 a.m. (except holidays) for a nutritious lunch and good time.
The program is partially funded by the Fresno-Made- ra Area Agency on Aging. If you are 60 or older, a sug- gested donation of $1.50 is appreciated but not required. Reservations must be made by 11 a.m. the weekday before you plan to attend.

Kid Could Paint That” documentary, presented by the Reedley Peace Cen- ter's Summer Film Series. This 2007 documentary tells the controversial story of Maria Olmstead. As a 4-year-old girl from Binghamton, N.Y., she attracted attention as an apparent child prodigy with a talent for abstract painting, her pieces earn- ing thousands of dollars. July 20, 8:15 p.m. “Coco,” presented by the city’s “Movies at Pioneer Park.” “Coco” is a 2017 animated feature that was a hit for Disney, courtesy of its ac- claimed Pixar Animation Studios. “Coco” this year won two Academy Awards for Best Animated Fea- ture and Best Original Song (“Remember Me”). Robbins earns spot on Ithaca College dean's list
Caleb Robbins of Reed- ley was named to the dean’s list at Ithaca College in New York.
Robbins is a musical theatre major at Ithaca Col- lege. Students qualify for the Dean’s list by attaining a minimum grade point aver- age of 3.70.

Navelencia promotes Class of 2018 eighth-graders

Navelencia Middle School on June 7 held its promotion ceremony for its eighth grade students.
The student speech was delivered by Emily Medina.
Six students were recog- nized with the Patriot Award, which is the highest honor that a Navelencia eighth-grad- er can achieve. The students are Jennifer Garcia, Morgan Gates, Gabriela Lemus, Em- ily Medina, Paola Rangel and Alexa Valdez.
