Physical fight in Squaw Valley leaves one man dead

A physical fight at a home in Squaw Valley on July 10 turned deadly when a Madera County man died from inju- ries suffered in the confron- tation with a Squaw Valley man.
Thomas Robert Christo- pher, 56, died at the scene of the altercation at a home in the 49000 block of Chuck- wagon Road in Squaw Valley. Responding deputies found Christopher laying injured in the front yard, and despite at- tempts at medical aid he died
at the scene.
The Fresno County Sher-
iff's Office reported that the unidentified man who got in- to the fight with Christopher called deputies. The man was transported to the hospital for treatment of an injured leg.
According to the sher- iff's office, interviews with witnesses and an examina- tion of evidence showed that Christopher had parked his vehicle down the road and walked to the trailer on the property. He began banging on the door, calling the man
by name to come out.
The man, who was asleep,
got up and opened the door. Christopher allegedly pushed his way through and immedi- ately began attacking the man with a metal pipe. The man

• A male subject was arrested for domestic violence in the 1000 block of Cherry Avenue. • A disturbance between three females was reported in the 200 block of J Street.
• A traffic stop was con- ducted in the area of Anna- dale Avenue and K Street to investigate a possible drunk driver. The male driver was found to be under the influ- ence of alcohol as his blood-
alcohol level was found to be three times the legal limit. He was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail.
• A male subject was arrested for DUI after a traffic stop in the area of Academy Avenue and 11th Street for excessive speed. The driver reportedly had a blood-alcohol level over twice the legal limit and offi- cers say two passengers were also intoxicated. All three men were arrested.
