League of Fresno Senior Girl Athlete of the Year Award.
The honor is given to se- nior girl athletes who excel in athletics, academics and com- munity service.
Alvarez plans on attending California State University, San Marcos in the fall.
“I am going to miss Reed- ley High so much,” Alvarez said. “This is the best school. I would not have wanted to go anywhere else.”
Badilla has been a varsity wrestler for the Pirates for four years and a member of the Pirates football team the past two years. He also has competed in track and field the past two seasons.
Badilla was chosen a CIF Scholar Athlete of the Year, representing the North Yo- semite League.
As a junior at RHS in 2016,
Badilla was a captain for the Pirates football team and was an All-NYL Second Team se- lection. As a senior in 2017, he was the captain and the team's Defensive Most Valu- able Player. He also was a All- NYL First Team Selection.
Badilla has been a captain on the Reedley High wrestling team the past two years and has helped lead the wrestling team to two straight NYL Championships.
He won three straight NYL individual champion- ships.
Badilla said he will for- ever be thankful for what the school has done for him
“Reedley High has built me into the person that I am along with my parents and everyone else who has helped me along the way,” Badilla said. “It has helped me figure out what I want to do in my life.”
Other awards presented at the event included honors for MVPs of teams during the fall,
winter and spring seasons. Here is a list of those award winners:
Fall: boys cross country - Cristian Gomez; girls cross country — Keila Robles; foot- ball — Daniel Badilla; girls golf — Allison Botello; girls tennis — Jayln Valdes; girls volleyball — Marissa Alva- rez; boys water polo — Jamian Villareal; and girls water polo — Jade Gill.
Winter: boys basketball — Alex Ortuno; girls basket- ball — Precious Hawkins; boys soccer — Alexis Rodri- guez; girls soccer — Kalese Sunamoto; boys wrestling — Adam Morales; girls wres- tling — Cheyenne Torres.
Spring: badminton — Ju- lie Scott and Destiny Rent- eria; baseball — Justin Lopez; softball — Alexa Gonzalez; boys golf — Jacob Peters; boys swimming — Adrian Figueroa; girls swimming — Dani Denton; diving —
Sophia Chapa; boys tennis
— Dawson Javaux; boys track — Alex Garica; girls track — Elizabeth Bienvenue; and boys volleyball — Ezra Felipe.
After those awards, Reedley High School honored 12 teams that won North Yo- semite League titles during the school year.
In the fall, the Pirates won NYL titles in boys and girls cross country, girls golf, girls tennis, girls volleyball and girls water polo.
In the winter, Reedley High's girls soccer team took the top spot in the NYL.
In the spring, five teams won league titles: The Pirates badminton, softball, girls swim and boys and girls track and field teams.
More award winners will be published in the May 31 edition of The Exponent.
RHS' Maverick Meeker to play in All-Star game

Collins-Dunn ended the game with all three RBIs, while JT Friesen was the winning pitcher. He pitched a complete game, allowing just one run and striking out five batters.
Collins-Dunn said he was just trying to put the ball in play to try to tie the game.
“We got our speed guys onandIknewIhadtodo my job,” Collins-Dunn said. “I saw the ball up and I just took a hack.”
Collins-Dunn talked about his first-ever home
run.“I have been waiting to hit a home tun all four years and I finally got one,” Dunn said. “That was the most ex-
citing monument.”
Franco said that Collins-
Dunn deserved to get that hit. “We are talking about a player who has come so far in our program. He puts his time in and does his home- work, studies his swing on video,” Franco said. “For him to do that in that mo-
ment was perfect.” Immanuel High ad-
vanced to the semifinals of the Division III playoffs on May 22 against No. 2 seed Independence High of Ba- kersfield.

With a win, the Eagles would advance to the CIF Central Section Division III Championship on Saturday, May 26, at Recreation Park in Visalia.
“That is one of the best teams that we have played all season,” Franco said.

support both teams.”
The Pirates scored two
runs in the top of the first inning that sent the Pirates fans into a frenzy. The Pi- rates crowd started chanting: "Who'stown, ourtown."
The Eagles took the mo- mentum right back in the bot- tom of the first, scoring four runs – aided by a Justin Pa- boojian two-run home run – to take a 4-2 lead.
As Paboojian, Immanuel's designated hitter, crossed home plate he let out a loud yell. The Eagles dugout was euphoric as the Pirates dugout fell silent.
Immanuel scored four times in the bottom of the second inning to increase the lead to 8-2.
Paboojian ended the game with three RBIs. After Dylan
Kent shut down the Pirates of- fense in the top of the third in- ning, the Eagles scored again to take a 9-2 lead when Tom- my Kawagoe singled.
The Pirates trailed 11-2 entering the top of the fifth.
That's when they tried to rally, scoring three runs to cut the Eagles lead to 11-5.
Jacob Franco, Justin Rack- ley and Matt Vargas each had anRBI. FrancohadtwoRBIs to lead the Pirates.
Immanuel added two runs late in the game that made the final score 13-5.
Coach Franco said playing in a rivalry game is a special opportunity that he wanted his players to cherish.
“I had two sophomores playing the left side of the infield that looked like they had just seen a ghost,” Fran- co said. “I told them to take a breath and enjoy this.”
