Happy First Birthday In Heaven
Frances L. Prendez February 28, 2019
I thought of you today, but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too.
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake from which I’ll never part.
God has you in His arms, I have you in my heart.
Mom you have always been there for us, our children and our grandchildren. Mom you were there for birthdays, track meets, school programs, many vacations... San Fran, Pismo “one of your favorite beaches”, and Magic Mountain. Your grandkids
will always remember you getting on the Viper with them. Trips that you took with your sisters to Hawaii and Virginia Beach. Your
grandchildren and great-grandchildren o en speak of your phrases like “I see said the blind man” and “Whatever will be will be.” You are truly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
Love you always Mom and Granny
Love your daughter Monica, son- in-law Javier, grandchildren Harvey & Maria, Valerie, Lorraine, Leslie & Tomas, Sarah and great-grandchildren Derek, Jackie, Xavier, Richie,
Caylin, Rianna, Samantha, Brandon, Logan & Avery.

The tax season is in full swing, which means some individuals and families will begin to worry and stress on where they can find a place to help file their taxes correctly.
For low-income households, it becomes a larger issue financial- ly as costs to seek help with a tax professional are expensive and many may not be able to af- ford this service.
With a collaborative effort of Community Services Employment Training, Internal Rev- enue Service and Dinu- ba Joint Unified School District, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is here to help. Households that have income under $54,000 can get their

federal and state tax re- turns prepared and filed by certified volunteer tax preparers for free in Dinuba.
As part of CSET's ex- panding services, citi-
zens in the community are encouraged to visit to get their tax returns filed. CSET Assistant Director Albert Cende- jas said the program has mobile sites throughout communities in Tulare and Kings counties in- cluding Dinuba.
"We want to go to those communities that couldn't come to us be- cause of issues with transportation," Cende- jas said.
Cendejas recalled how Dinuba became a site for the VITA pro- gram. His daughter, Kassandra, a sophomore at Dinuba High School and a volunteer with the program since she was 13, asked her father why not have services in Dinuba. The wheels began to turn. Cendejas, along with DHS account- ing and personal finance
instructor John Celum, worked on the project along with Kassandra.
“Our thought process was, if we can the stu- dents, we’ll find a way to do this, Cendejas said.
Celum said Cendejas reached out to DJUSD superintendent, Dr. Joe Hernandez and the school board. He said he got an email express- ing interest from CSET to allow for training for DHS students, so they could help residents and community members file taxes.
"I've heard of this program before," said Celum. "In fact, I have a son and a daughter in college and they both had their taxes file last year with the same VI- TA program at Fresno State and U.C. Berkeley. I was like, we can offer these services here and give back to our commu- nity that way."
There was work to do and obstacles to clear, one of which was having a site in Dinuba. A year ago students had to trav- el, according to Celum.
"We didn't have the training in Dinuba," he said. "Our students had to go to Visalia on Saturday for all-day training. They
