With the cancelation of in- person events, Washington In- termediate School in Dinuba will move forward with cel- ebrating their out-going 8th grade class with a virtual pro- motion ceremony on Wednes- day, May 27, at 9 a.m.
The video will incorporate components of a normal pro- motion. The video will include a message from principal, Dr. Jesse Sanchez, traditional 8th grade class student speakers, special awards, announcement of promotion of students, and a message from Dinuba High School principal Andrew Popp, welcoming the class of 2020 as Emperors.
“We’re very proud of our kids during these challenging times,” said Sanchez. “We believe in them and see nothing but great- ness.”
Sandy Chavez, who serves as the 8th grade learning direc- tor, said there will be a special promotion drive thru ceremony later that day from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school’s parking lot.
“Students will be able to pick up their certificates,” she stated. The drive-thru event is only for students who qualified for the
promotion, according to Chavez. A goodie bag will be handed out by Dr. Sanchez at the event. “I’m the last person they will see,” he said. “It’s a great
opportunity for our kids.”
