Students from Jefferson Elementary School entered their winter break just a little warmer as over 50 students received brand new jackets from the Dinuba HIgh School Leo Club. The high school club worked with the Dinuba Lions Club to raise money for their annual coats drive. Pictured above are just some of the students from Jefferson Elementary School who received a coat from the Leo Club, with school staff, showing their sign of approval and gratitude.
Sentinel staff report
On Dec. 21 a large group of children from St. Catherine's Catholic Church's Religious Education went out to visit local senior citizens for the holidays. The youth paid visits to Dinuba Health Care and Golden Living, where they sang Christmas carols to the elderly there and provided them with gifts. Over 150 gifts were provided during their visits.
The visit and the gifts were welcomed to the seniors, especially those who sometimes don't get visitors says St. Catherine catechist Crystal Diaz.
"They loved it," said Diaz. "Lots of smiles were super heart warming and the kids like to give before they start receiving."
Leading the caroling and gift giving was Director of Religious Education Laura Rico. The gifts were made possible by donations from students and local businesses.
