Gordon Paul Decker
March 9, 1942 - July 8, 2020
We are saddened as we mourn
the loss of Gordon Decker. He was born March 9, 1942, in Huron, SD, to parents David and Ruth Decker. Gordon made his public confession of faith as he was baptized in Lake Dudley, SD. He peacefully joined his heavenly Father on July 8, 2020.
His parents moved their family of eight from South Dakota to Reedley in 1956. As a young farm boy, Gordon was able to ex-
perience city life for a short time before moving to their farm on Reed Avenue. Gordon attended Immanuel High School for three years, playing basketball and was on the track team. He completed his senior year at Reedley High where he met his high school sweetheart, Donna Jennings. ey married Au- gust 1961. ey welcomed their only daughter, Deborah, and son, Steven. Twelve years later, they welcomed twins Jonathan and Ryan. ey would have celebrated 59 years together next month.
Gordon’s rst job out of high school was driving produce to Los Angeles for Kimura Trucking. He began working full time at Salwasser Manufacturing for 16 years. Shortly a er his twin sons were born, he began installing patios and started his own business, Decker Patio & Awning. His three sons worked with their dad and the twins continue to operate the business today.
Gordon enjoyed traveling with his family, enjoying many camping trips, travels to Canada, South Dakota, all over the Western states, and Pismo (Donna’s favorite). And oh, how he loved his motorcycle, logging 50,000 miles before he quit rid- ing. He rode to many states with his “biker buddies.”
Gordon’s family attended Reedley First Baptist Church (now Redeemer’s). He served as a deacon, choir youth leader, and in men’s bible study. He served on the board at Fresno Rescue Mission. He had many friends and will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Ruth Decker, and his son, Steven Decker. Surviving are his wife, Donna; daughter, Deborah and Mark Johnson; sons, Jonathan and Kelli Decker, and Ryan Decker; his grandchildren, Tyler Johnson and ance, Amanda Sikora, Garrett and Tori Johnson, Blake Johnson, and Mason Decker; siblings, Ron and Linda Decker, Dennis and Marie Decker, Reva Fast, Naomi and Les iessen, and Reed and Diane Decker.

Jim Clark, age 84, went home to be with Jesus, Tuesday July 14,
2020 due to health complications.
Jim was born in Frankfurt, Indiana to Chester and Ruby Clark and
he was also raised for many years by his Grandmother Young.
Jim married his sweetheart Judy and together they shared 65 heart lled adventurous years. Their beginning years started in Indiana and then they chased their dreams bringing their family to the Los Angeles area and later on, moving here to Reedley. Throughout these 65 years Jim and Judy left an impressive lineage along the way: 9 children and
spouses, 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Jim served in the U.S. Navy and was active in the Korean War. Patriotism was something deeply instilled in his family and this legacy continues to grow with several of his family serving in the Military and
this made him so proud.
Besides Jim’s love of God and family, he was passionate about
shing and golf. In his own words, “Any day was a good day on the lake or on the course.” Later on, when he couldn’t participate physically in these sports, he watched them attentively on T.V.
Joking around was a big part of who Jim was. No one was a stranger. He would talk to anyone and everyone. He would always wave at every car that drove by and often commented how he knew that person. Jim always had a joke ready or some smart comeback. He was quick witted and comfortable with people, probably because he was a car salesman for many years here in Reedley.
Jim’s family of course has lots of memories but one of their most cherished is of him in his famous “chair” (the recliner that sits in the middle of the main room in his house.) He held countless family members on his lap there, read them books, played games, rocked them to sleep and most of all watched movies. This precious time of movie watching still was happening at Christmas with annual viewing of “Jingle all the Way,” and “Christmas Vacation.”
Jim fought a hard battle with Kidney cancer but his physical body nally needed to rest. He was con dent in knowing that his life here on earth was just temporary and he was going home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus. In recent times, he often talked of heaven and how God had carried him through so many tough times.
