Sanger businesses team up, help families in need

To help families struggling through these difficult times, two family-owned busi- ness in Sanger have teamed up to raffle away weekly grocery giveaways.
Gong’s Southgate Market and Century 21 Cheney Enterprises have provided more than four decades of service to the Sanger community and now are giving back at a time when citizens need it most.

What was supposed to be an afternoon of relax- ing with friends quickly turned into an emer- gency situation for Di- nuba resident Christian Zepeda, after part of his home caught fire the af- ternoon of July 17.
“The fire was on the side of the house,” Zepeda of the blaze which began about 2 p.m. “We tried putting it out ourselves but it reached the fence and went out of control.”
Zepeda said he’d been drinking some beers in his backyard and decid- ed to go inside to grab another beer from the fridge.

Fire units from Dinuba and Reedley responded to an afternoon structure fire in the 1400 block of Bolinger Avenue on July 17. Damage to the home was kept to a minimum.
