On September 1, 2021, Albert Ernest Ebiner went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born April 30, 1931, in Los Angeles, California. Albert and his two brothers, Robert and Paul, were raised by his parents, Maurice and Virginia Ebiner. Albert’s family moved often which resulted in attending five different grammar schools and four different high schools. He would often say, “I would just start to make friends and my dad would say that we’re
moving.”
In high school Albert worked as an usher at the Fox
Theater in Los Angeles. While working there he met film actress Mae West. After graduation from high school, Albert attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He left after a year to help his dad on the farm. In March 1955, he was drafted into the US Marine Corps. He became a corporal and was stationed in Japan. Upon being discharged from the service, he worked at Ivory Pine Lumber Company in Dinuba for two years.
In 1955, Albert met Catherine Kirst and they married in May 1956. He decided to go into farming full time and so he and Catherine built a home and started their family.
Some of the organizations that Albert was involved in at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church were Knights of Columbus, Minister of the Eucharist, and the building committee. He was also involved with the VFW, Lions Club, and the Monson- Sultana School Board.
Albert loved being with his family, fishing, hunting, camping and reading. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Catherine, his granddaughter, Hayden, and his brother, Robert.
Albert is survived by his children Susan Farhang (Teymour) of Cutler, Thomas Ebiner (Kathy) of Cutler, Nancy Banks (Rod) of Visalia, Stephen Ebiner (Lisa) of Reedley, and James Ebiner (Kathy) of Chandler, AZ; and his grandchildren, Leanne Shipley (Eric), Michael McBride (Robin), Chase Ebiner, McKenna Ebiner, Blake Ebiner, and Brandon Ebiner.
We would like to thank his wonderful caregiver, Domingo Andres, Kaweah Health Hospice and the staff at Amdal. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, at 6:00 PM at Dopkins Funeral Chapel in Dinuba. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Sept 10, at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church followed by burial at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
