On Tuesday, June 12, we’re having our Senior Luncheon. Join us for the fun and excitement! We’ll have music, food, and door prizes. “Thank you” to Ron and Carol Surabian, who will provide the entertainment.

There also was an op- portunity drawing, featuring donations from the Fresno Grizzlies baseball team, the School House Restaurant and Tavern, and Valley au- thors Bruce Thornton and Victor Davis Hanson.
• Lisa McAndrews, Reedley College Residence Hall manager, was Event Lead for the American Can- cer Society’s Reedley Relay For Life on April 14 in Reed- ley. The fundraising efforts – including those leading up to the event and efforts at the 24-hour event – amounted to $31,000.
Out of 20 teams, the Residence Hall team’s “Give Cancer the Boot” raised $5,200.00.

ATHLETICS
Josh Allen, former Reed- ley College quarterback, re- turned to campus on April 19 before the 2018 NFL Draft of top collegiate talent. Ana- lysts had named Allen a top draft pick. After Reedley College, Allen attended and played for the University of Wyoming.
On April 26, the Buffalo Bills chose Allen as the sev- enth overall pick.
During his Reedley Col- lege visit, Allen (who played for RC in 2014) was present- ed his No. 12 RC game-worn jersey by Director of Athlet- ics David Santesteban and Head Football Coach Eric Marty.
More than 200 people attended the event. Other presentations were made by Reedley Mayor Anita Be- tancourt and Erik Valencia, executive director of the Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce.
Allen delivered a moti- vational message to student- athletes, signed autographs, posed for pictures with fans and supporters, and spoke with the media.

The Mennonite Quilt Cen- ter is about to pull an “Almost All Nighter.”
These aptly named ses- sions will be held the third Friday of each month at the center, 1012 G St. The first one will be held on Friday, June 15.
The store usually closes at 4 p.m. on Fridays. For these
gatherings, the quilt center will be open 4-11 p.m.
There will be no instruc- tion. Instead, participants are encouraged to bring their own projects, sewing machines, and a snack to share. The cost is $20 and includes beverages, irons and cutting mats. All skill levels are invited.
