• A third party reported that a man was hitting an elderly male inside a vehicle near a gas station at 5:53 p.m.
• A report was taken of a sub- ject on a bike looking into vehicles and trying to light a box on fire in the 1000 block of North Alta Avenue at 8:08 p.m. • A man looking into vehicles in the Walmart parking lot in the 700 block of West El Mon- te Way was reported at 8:14 p.m.

Police arrested two Parlier men on New Year's Day after a loaded 9-millimeter semi- automatic handgun was found concealed in the vehicle the two were in.
Diego Ramirez, 18, was the driver and 19-year-old Axel Orellana the passenger in the vehicle pulled over by Parlier Police officers at about 2 a.m. on Jan. 1. Ramirez was unli-
censed, and the vehicle registration was more than six months past due. Officers impounded the vehicle and prepared it for storage.
During an inventory search prior to stor- age, the gun was discovered with the serial number missing from the firearm.
Police then took Ramirez and Orellana into custody, and they were booked into the Fres- no County Jail on suspicion of several felony charges.
