Roscoe, a young Rhodesian Ridge- back, is our featured pet of the week again.
Roscoe has a very pronounced ridge along his spine that earned his breed the nickname of "The dog with a snake on its back."
"He's probably only about 3 years old. He knows how to walk on a leash and he's very calm and obedient," said animal control volunteer Kim Reed.

After a few hot days and before a few more even hot- ter days, the weather should be great for the Fairmont and WAMS outdoor 8th grade promotion ceremonies this evening.
Even though the official beginning of summer is two weeks away, Sanger may open its cooling center next week because there will be several days of sizzling triple digit weather before another brief cooler spell.
It's time to get out that folding windshield sun shade and to think seriously about the dangers of leaving your toddler or your dog in a locked car on a hot day.
On a day like today when it's 85 degrees outside, the temperature inside a parked car can soar to 100 degrees in just minutes and on a 90-degree day, the car's inte- rior temperature can reach as high as 109 degrees in less than 10 minutes.
