SANGER HERALD 8A THURSDAY, JANUARY 18, 2018
Weather for Apache Country
Today 680/480
The fog arrived later than usual this year and from all in- dications it might stick around longer than usual.
The forecast is for showers off and on for at least the next week with fog night and morn- ing when there's no rain.
We'll go from jacket wear- ing to coat and rain gear wear- ing weather for awhile. Day- time temperatures will be in the mid 50s and nighttime
temperatures will drop into the low 40s and high 30s, still no danger of freezing.
The Apache basketball team knocked off the Bee's No. 1 ranked team, the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers, 85-75 Tuesday evening. It's not great weather for soccer, but it's perfect for watching basketball in the Coach Dean Nicholson gym at Sanger High School.

School district foggy day procedure
Announcements will be made on TV channels 24, 30, 47 and 18 and radio station KMJ be- ginning at 6a.m.when buses are going to run late because of fog or bad weather. Theywill tell you which plan the district is going to use that day:
• PLAN A - there will be a two hour bus delay;
• PLAN B - there will be a three hour bus delay;
• PLAN C - all home to school transportation is cancelled for the day.
Under all plans, buses will follow the regular schedule in the afternoon to take students
home.
Although buses may be delayed on foggy days, classes at all school sites will begin at the
regular time. Parents may want to take students to school themselves on foggy days.
Looks like we'll be getting intermittent rain storms and that usually means nasty tule fog will make driving difficult in Sanger during late night and early morning hours.
There's a school district "fog line" where you can get live updates on the fog situation, (559) 524-6658.

Winnie is a gentle, sweet- heart pitbull lady, probably about three-years-old, found wandering near the McDon- ald's Restaurant on Academy Avenue and so far no one has come by the shelter to claim her.
Sanger shelter dogs avail- able for adoption will be at the Clovis Tractor Supply store on Herndon Avenue near the intersection with Clovis Avenue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 27, said shel- ter volunteer Kim Reed.
"This [the Sanger city yard] is just not a high traffic area. In fact, most people don't even know where it is. We're hoping to give the dogs a better chance to be adopted by giving them more expo- sure," said Reed.
Still at the shelter waiting for you to come by and meet them are:
• Buster Brown, a 1-2 year old happy, energetic pitbull mix who likes cookies, play- ing, walking and hugging;
• Misty, a playful, high energy young lady lab mix about 2 years old who loves to walk and go for car rides;
• Blaze, a young pitbull mix who loves to play and gets along well with every- one; and
• Doc, a sweet, friendly, gentle and mature pitbull mix who has been in the shelter for awhile and would really like to be your new best friend. He's maybe 6-7 years old, weighs about 50 pounds and loves to walk.
• JoJo, a happy two-year- old pitbull, is Sanger shelter's mascot! Does well with other dogs and kids and needs a forever home and a loving family.
Call Sanger animal control officer Mario Irazoqui at (559) 618-9071 to make an appointment to meet Winnie, Buster, Misty, Doc, JoJo or
