The Reedley Police Department handled 473 public-initiated and offi- cer-initiated calls for ser- vice, with 115 dispatched as Priority 1 calls. Joseph Carrara was born to
Jack and Teresa Carrara on July 18, 1935 in Sanger.
Joe’s parents moved to Kingsburg, where he attended Kingsburg schools and graduated from Kingsburg High School in 1953. After attending college he went to work for the County of Fresno as an engineering aide. He retired from Fresno County Public Works in 1995.
He was a very kind and loving person. He enjoyed his retirement and spent time traveling as well as working in his garden and orchard. The last few years he struggled with his dementia and on January 19, 2022 he lost the battle.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Teresa Carrara and his sister Norma Netzer and her husband Frank Netzer. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Florence Carrara.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on North and Bethel. Rosary at 11:30 a.m. and mass at 12 p.m.
Remembrance may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or your favorite charity.
Masks are required at the services.
Yolanda Pantoja Pickett (Yoli) passed
away on January 4, 2022. She was born and
raised in Reedley, California to Rosario and Margret Pantoja.
Yoli married Raul Pickett in 1976. They settled in Porterville where they raised their four daughters. Her greatest source of joy was her eleven grandchildren.
Yoli was a loving teacher for twenty-five years. Known as Mrs. Pantoja, she spent the majority of her career at Olive Street School in Porterville.
After retirement, Yoli and Raul moved to Visalia. They were married for 45 years and stayed by each other’s side until the end.
Yolanda is preceded in death by her father, Rosario Pantoja, and is survived by her husband Raul Pickett; her daughters Margarita (Robert) Perez, Leticia (Daniel) Oberreuter, Adelina (Brandon) Carter, and Yesenia (Carlos) Lemus; her eleven grandchildren; her mother Margret Sanchez, and her siblings Irma Faria, Marco Pantoja, Anita Smith, and Ross Pantoja.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E Caldwell Ave., Visalia, with the Rosary to be prayed at 6pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Friday, February 4, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua South, 1060 F Street, Reedley. The family has opted for a Celebration of Life sometime in the future to accommodate those who cannot travel at this time. Thus, no reception will be held.
