The Reedley High boys tennis team dropped a tight 5-4 decision to the No. 8 seed Selma Bears in the first round of the Central Section Division 3 playoffs on April 24.

hot with a pair of double-dig- it road victories last week. Reedley trounced McLane by a 15-4 score on April 24 before routing Fresno High by a 14-2 score on Aprll 26. Big innings fueled both routs, as RHS erupted for 10 runs in the fifth against the Highlanders and scored seven runs in the fourth against the Warriors.
Reedley closes the regular season with a 3:30 p.m. game Thursday, May 2, at Sunnyside High. Seedings for the Cen- tral Section playoffs will take place over the weekend.

Jemima Andrade won the 200 free in 2:18.94 while Sophie Chapa (278.90) and Emily Booth (277.22) placed 1-2 in diving.
Also winning was the 400 free relay team of An- drade, Hayden Ankrum, Thiesen and Hoffman in 4:29.79.

Led by Ivy Duong's vic- tory in the shot put, Reedley High athletes turned in top three finishes in five varsity individual events at the 76th annual Reedley Invitational on April 26.
Senior Duong set personal bests in both the shot (34 feet, 1 1/2 inches) and discus (sec- ond in 101-3 3/4) while junior Trinity Toews took third in the 200 meters (27.84 seconds)

BASEBALL Tigers finish tied for fourth in CVC
Reedley College finished the 2019 baseball season with three consecutive wins, put- ting the Tigers in a tie for fourth place in the eight-team Central Valley Conference.
Fresno City College (17- 4, 30-10) won the conference title, one game ahead of sec- ond place Taft (16-5, 25-14) and College of the Sequoias (16-5, 23-15-1).

SOFTBALL RHS nears fourth straight NYL crown
Reedley High hosted
The Tigers swept sev- enth place West Hills Coal- inga last week. Reedley needed to score four times in the top of the ninth inning to record a wild 16-15 win in Coalinga on April 23 before downing the Falcons 11-3 in the Tigers’ home finale on April 25. The next day, Reed- ley finished the season with an 11-4 win in Coalinga.
In the 16-15 win, catcher Danny Gamez hit a third in- ning grand slam and finished with six RBI. Gabe Grijalva had four singles and drove in four runs. Reedley com- mitted six errors in the field.
In the April 25 win over the Falcons, Reedley scored nine runs in their final two at- bats. Josh Mares and Grijalva both drove in two runs.
Hans Brown drove in three runs while Tresten Bu- matay had three hits in the April 26 win.

McDonald, Jacob Laine, Ethan Milton and Miles Yada clocked 1:36.54 to win the 200 free relay while the Pirates finished sec- ond in the 200 medley relay (1:48.91) and 400 free relay (3:39.64). Adrian Figueroa was second in the 200 free (1:59.80) and 100 backstroke (59.12), McDonald was sec- ond in the 100 free (52.54) while Yada placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.01).
Reedley had three third place finishers in Hunt- er Shamp (2:22.37 in the 200 IM), Laine (1:02.64 in the 100 butterfly), Milton (5:45.04 in the 500 free) and Aidan Thiessen (219.65 points in diving).

girls victorious at Junior Fresno Relays
The Riverview K-8 School girls midget divi- sion(11-12) team took first place in the 4x100 meter relay (56.28 seconds) and 4x400 relay (4:43.61) at the Junior Fresno Relays on
April 27 in Sanger. The team is made up of (from left) Sienna Ramos, Maysi Priest, Ava Rodriguez and Reál Morales. Coaches are Stan Kanawyer and Tony Cortez. Undefeated on the season, the girls will compete at the junior Valley Championships on Saturday, May 4, at Buchanan High School in Clovis.

Pee Wee Division: 3rd and 4th Grade. Maximum age is 10. Player cannot exceed 155 pounds.
Mighty Might Division: K thru 2nd Grade. Ages six to eight. Player cannot exceed 115 pounds.
ALL divisions: A participant’s age on December 1, 2019 determines the playing age.
All individuals must provide a copy of their 2018-2019 FINAL report card, a copy of a primary health insurance card, and a CURRENT wallet size photo. Scheduled JUNE dates will be announced to collect the copy of the FINAL report card.
The League requires an Original Certi ed birth certi cate at the time of contract certi cation. The original birth certi cate will be requested at a speci ed time in July. The original birth certi cate will be returned after the contract is certi ed.
A sports physical is required for all divisions. If you cannot get a timely appointment from your doctor, suggested quali ed locations will be listed on the information sheet that will be attached to the player contract.

Roman Rosales - Immanuel High School Baseball
Roman Rosales, Immanuel High senior, collected  ve hits including a home run while driving in six runs in three Selma Tournament games as the Eagles  nished second in the tournament. For the season, the right- hander is batting .429 through 26 games with 39 hits, 28 runs scored and a team-leading 31 runs batted in. On the mound, he is 7-1 in 11 appearances with a 0.91 earned run average, 89 strikeouts and 29 walks.
