Reynosa extends
small lead in
council race
Sentinel staff report
In one of the tightest Dinuba City Council races to date, Ward 2 incumbent Maribel Reynosa appears to be pulling away from challenger Victor Rojas in latest election results.
The Tulare County Registrar released their eigth post- election report on Nov. 27, showing Reynosa with a slim nine-vote lead over Rojas.
Reynosa and Rojas had been tied vote-for-vote in initial results and in a few post election reports.
In Ward 4, a race that came as close as 14 votes, incumbent Kuldip Thusu has widened his leade over challenger Tish Perez to 76 votes.
California Law requires that all elecion results be certified by Dec. 6.

As for Mares, he said the idea just came to him.
“One day I
came to work
early morning
and I decided
I wanted to do
something for the
community,” said
Mares. “I was able to contact him (Valero) that same morning and he came out and was more than willing to help get this whole thing started.”
Mares was born and raised in Dinuba and is a 1994 graduate of Dinuba High School. He started his career for Tulare County Fire at the Dinuba Substation in 2001 and has worked at other substations throughout the county. He has spent the last four years at the Cutler Substation.
“I just felt like giving back to the community,” added Mares.

“Thank you so much,” said a lady at the house with long gray

This was the first year the Cutler Substation has given out Thanksgiving baskets. After seeing the gratitude and smiles of those they served last week, the station hopes to make it an annual event.
