A Eureka upright vacuum with all the attachments looked like a deal. So did a set of luggage. A computer monitor on the electronics table looked like it would be a good backup. A singing bass plaque could’ve been a good gag gift. There were also sleeping bags, quilts and blankets — and all sorts of dishes.

And Ada Fisher, a veteran who worked for Naval intelligence during World War II, had her chest of drawers for sale. There was also a one- man raft for those hiking trips. A special favorite was a peacock fan. It was electric.
But organizer Doris Knowlton found the best stuff. Early Tuesday she showed off a box of paper doll books mixed with several stamp collecting publications. It was selling for $100. Really.
Several weeks earlier, Knowlton brought out a PowerTronic record player. It was all plastic but pulled in a relatively good price, at least according to a quick eBay scan.
