Adventist Health Reedley wins top teaching hospital award

Adventist Health Reedley is among only 10 hospitals in California to earn 2019 Top Teaching Hospital accolades for patient safety and qual- ity. The award is from The Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog organization of employers and other pur- chasers focused on health- care safety and quality and is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive honors American hospitals can receive.

Consuelo T. Alcantar
Conseulo T. Alcantar
died Dec. 16. She was
95.
Mrs. Alcantar was
a homemaker and was self-employed.
She is survived by five sons, seven daugh- ters, 37 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Dec. 23 at Wallin’s Sanger Funeral Home and a funeral mass was held on Dec. 24 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on O Street in Sanger.
Ioan Mae Bennett
Ioan May Bennett died Dec. 17. She was
96.
Mrs. Bennett was
a cafeteria worker for Sanger Unified School District.
She is survived by one son of Sanger, and one daughter of Fres- no. She is also survived by two sisters, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchil- dren.
A graveside service will be held on at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at the Sanger Cemetery.

Jose Alfredo Cisner- os of Reedley died Dec. 12 in Fresno. He was 21.
Mr. Cisneros was a student.

De La Fuente Isabel De La Fuente
of Parlier died Dec. 15. She was 68.
Mrs. De La Fuente worked as a teacher's aide with the Parlier Unified School District.
She is survived by one daughter, one broth- er, two sisters, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation and a ro- sary were held Dec. 22 at Wallin's Parlier Fu- neral Home. A mass was held Dec. 23 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catho- lic Church in Parlier.
Joe Dicochea
Joe L. Dicochea of Visalia died Dec. 16 in Visalia. He was 63.

Neto Epps of Cutler died Dec. 4 in Visalia. He was 41.
Mr. Epps was a ware- house worker.

Guadalupe Hernandez Guadalupe M. Her-
nandez of Madera died Dec. 15 in Madera. She was 88.
Ms. Hernandez worked as a seamer op- erator.
She is survived by one son, five daugh- ters, 23 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be from5to7p.m.witha rosary at 6 p.m. Mon- day, Dec. 30, at the new St. Mary's Catho- lic Church in Sanger. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the new St. Mary's Church.
Burial will be in Kings- burg Cemetery.

Mary Hirata
Mary Hirata of Reed- ley died Dec. 15. She was 94.
Mrs. Hirata is sur- vived by four children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Reedley Buddhist Church. Dopkins Reed- ley Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrange- ments.
Bill Williams
Bill Gene Williams of Dinuba died Nov. 28. He was 95.
Mr. Williams was a lo- cal farmer and realtor in Dinuba for 30 years.
He is survived by one son, one daughter, one sister, five grand- children and four great- grandchildren.
A graveside ser- vice with full military honors will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Smith Mountain Cem- etery in Dinuba.

Extreme Registration for SCCCD on Jan. 3-4

The State Center Community College District — including the Reedley College campus — will hold its spring semester Ex- treme Registration on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 3-4. Friday regis- tration will be from 2 to 7 p.m. followed by Saturday registration from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Reedley College's registration will take place in the Student Cen- ter next to the cafeteria.
Extreme Registra- tion is a one-stop shop that offers everything a student will need to enroll at Fresno City
College, Reedley Col- lege, Clovis Commu- nity College, Madera Community College Center and Oakhurst Community College Center. The Spring 2020 semester begins Monday, Jan. 13.
Extreme Registra- tion will include staff from admissions, coun- seling, financial aid, and business services in one building. At the regis- tration, students can select courses and plan a class schedule, com- plete registration for classes, receive coun- seling and advising, pay fees, buy a student ID card, purchase a park- ing permit and more.
Wreath removal is Jan. 4 at Reedley Cemetery

The removal of wreaths displayed during the Christmas holiday at Reedley Cemetery will take place on Saturday, Jan. 4, not Jan. 11 as re- ported in last week's is- sue of The Times.
Volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. that day and re- move wreaths that have been displayed since
the annual ceremony on Dec. 14. The wreaths will be transported to the Reedley Armory, where they will dry out for a week and then be bagged for annual stor- age on Saturday, Jan. 11.
Event organizer Su- san Lusk said volunteers are welcome and encour- aged to come out on both days.
