Placida Lopez Jasso

Surrounded by her loving family, Placida Lopez Jasso, 94, answered her Lord’s call to return home on December 13, 2019. She was born July 11, 1925, to Abato and Santos Lopez in Weslaco Texas. In 1962, the Jasso family moved from their native Texas to California, residing in Sanger. She worked alongside her husband and children in all aspects of the agricul- ture industry. As a loving mother, Mrs. Jasso exemplified the skills of a nurse, coun- selor, mentor, teacher, chef, homemaker
and caregiver to her 12 children.
Mrs. Jasso was deeply spiritual, she loved God’s word
and read her Bible daily. After the passing of her husband in 1973, she became the independent, industrious and inspirational leader for her family.
Her survivors are her children: Tom Jasso, Carmen Mercado (Felix), Cristela Chavez (Jose), George Jasso (Gloria), Irma Jasso Mendez, LaBianca “Blanca” Baker (Albert), Manuel Jasso (Patsy) and Maria Jasso Lopez and many generations of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Seferino Jasso, her sons Johnny and his wife Mary, Fernando Jas- so, and by her daughters, Lupita Jasso and Magdalena “Mollie’ Mendoza, her grandchildren: Seferino Johnny Jasso Eliza Jasso and Estrellita Lopez. Also preceding her in death were her sisters: Eloisa Cortez, Esther Garcia, and Lupita Ortiz and brothers: Reynaldo, Ernesto and Heriberto Lopez.
Services to be held December 27, 2019, with rosary at 9:00am, eulogies at 9:30, Holy Mass at 10:00 and intern- ment at Sanger Cemetery.

Dr Juan Mendoza and Dr Claudia Padron for their supportive care throughout the years and the Optimal Hospice Staff and nurses for providing tender care and support to our wonderful Mother.
Frances Th iessen
December 12, 1923 ~ December 3, 2019
Frances Thiessen, known to most as “Fritz”, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, in Reedley CA at the age of 95. Frances was born on December 12, 1923, in Waka, Texas, to Arthur C. Froese and Kathryn (Bergen) Froese. The Froese family moved numerous times to California, Oregon, Texas, and Oklahoma, due to the dustbowl years until they made their nal move to Reedley, CA, in 1938. She married Willie Thiessen on March 13, 1943. Frances was a homemaker all their married life. In addition to her devotion to creating a wonderful home life, she spent many hours caring for other children and volunteering at the MCC Center-Nearly New in Reedley. After Willie retired in 1983, they continued volunteer work with MCC, in Pennsylvania, Kentucky and
Reedley.
Frances was an active member at Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church.
Frances was a sel ess, steward and servant of Christ to her husband, family, friends, church and community.
Frances Thiessen is survived by her sister-in-law, Lu (Kliewer) Klassen, Reedley CA; 4 nieces and 1 nephew. Thiessen family of 3 nephews and 6 nieces. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thiessen; parents, Arthur and Kathryn Froese; brother, Herman Klassen; parents- in-law, Gerhardt and Aganetha Thiessen; brother-in-law, Otto Thiessen and wife Esther; and brother-in-law, Ira Thiessen.
A committal service was held on December 10, 2019,
at the Reedley Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 1:30, December 27, 2019, at Palm Village in Reedley.
Thank you to all the caregivers and staff at Palm Village, the pastoral staff at Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church, Hinds Hospice, family and friends as they have sustained Fritz with quality care and support. Surrounded by her loving husband, daughters & friends, Teresa drew her last breath on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019. She is survived by her husband Jim, daughters Cindy, Lily, Desiree & Felicity. Her mother Julia, brother Jesse & sisters Maria, Margaret, Angela, El- vira, Lucia, 10 grandchildren, 9 nieces & 11 nephews.
She faithfully attended congregation meetings at the Sanger Kingdom Hall & went door to door sharing the good news of God’s kingdom. The words of Nathan, her oldest grandson, best encap- sulates the feelings & thoughts of her family. “You taught me how to have compassion, patience & commitment. You taught me how to share, & how to love. You have shaped me as a person. You will always be a part of me. I am who I am because of you. Every good quality I have, is because of you. You’ll forever be in my heart. I love you.” A memorial service will be held at the King- dom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 145 Academy N. Ext., Sanger, CA on Sat., Dec. 28, 2019 at 2 p.m.
