Reedley High (8-6-2) went 1-2-1 at the Santa Maria Soccer Extravaganza on Dec. 28-29. The Pirates defeated Pioneer Valley 3-0, dropped 1-0 decisions to Santa Maria and Arroyo Grande and bat- tled Righetti High to a score- less draw.

WRESTLING Pirate girls triumph at Santa Paula
Reedley High took first place in the bronze bracket of the Santa Paula Tourna- ment on Jan. 5. The Pirates had four medalists, led by second place Odalis Banda who received an MVP tro- phy for her performance in the 150-pound class.
Also winning a second place medal was Jamilynne Gonzalez at 121 pounds. In addition, Esther Villa placed third in the 170 class while Kamar Perez took fourth at 160.
The Pirate girls and boys teams hosted McLane and Hoover in an NYL double dual meet at Reedley High gym on Jan. 8. Results were unavailable at press time. On Saturday, Jan. 12, the RHS boys will compete at the Red- wood Invitational in Visalia while the girls will participate in the Sanger tournament.

Miah Paz - Reedley High Girls Basketball
Reedley High freshman Miah Paz earned all- tournament honors
at the Dinuba-Orosi Holiday Classic on Dec. 19-22 and the Parlier Tournament on Jan. 3-5. She is one of the Pirates’ top scorers during a 9-7 non-league schedule before the start of North Yosemite League play.
