Reedley man suspected of DUI in multi-vehicle crash on Manning

A Reedley man was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Dec. 2 after a multi-vehicle wreck on Manning Avenue between Reedley and Parlier sent 10 people to the hospital.
Edwardo Alfaro De Arellano, 33, is accused of causing the crash at about 8:30 p.m. He was taken into custody after the crash, and released on $27,000 bail.
According to Cali- fornia Highway Patrol officials at the scene, De Arellano was driv- ing a Black Acura along Manning Avenue when he rear-ended an Audi SUV. Officers said he was driving between 80 and 90 miles per hour and believe he was in- toxicated.

Snow covered the Sierra Nevada range east of Dinuba on Dec. 2 after the Central Valley last week received its first measurable rainfall in more than six months. While rain in the Valley and snow in the mountains were welcome for the water situation and cleaning the hazy Valley air, the inclement weather did cause travel complications for Valley residents attempting to get to Southern California during Thanksgiving.
Furnace the cause of fire in Sanger
Sanger Fire personnel, along with firefighters from Cal Fire, responded to a fire in the 1100 block of O Street on the morning of Nov. 26. Firefight- ers were able to determine the source of the fire being a furnace heater in the home’s basement and were able to quickly put it out. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters re- sponding to the scene said 10 people, includ- ing four children, were transported to local hospitals. Most injuries were believed to be mi- nor, but De Arellano and the driver of the SUV were believed to have suffered broken bones.
The crash scene along Manning Avenue between Zediker and Smith avenues closed the roadway fore a cou- ple of hours before re- opening to traffic.
