We heard much about “flattening the curve” so our health care sys- tem of providers and hospitals would not be overwhelmed. Extreme cleaning regiments were put into place to help stop the spread of the vi- rus and a mask mandate was implemented. Many small businesses were closed with devastating economic results.
The health department mandated testing for re- tirement community employees and residents. Daily temperature checks and screening of all resi- dents, staff and vendors began and everyone was asked to wear a mask.
So how did all of this turmoil affect seniors and
retiree.”
While the world isn’t
quite back to normal yet, with vaccine distri- bution ramping up and local COVID num- bers going down, our residents and staff are looking forward to the future with a renewed sense of hope. Our residents are emerg- ing from this trying period with a renewed

It has been about a year since the global pandem- ic impacted just about everyone’s life in one way or another. In person classroom instruction for the young was halted and stay at home orders were issued. Some businesses were deemed non-essen- tial while others were not. into my apartment, I was welcomed by many of my neighbors. One of my neighbors even brought over some cupcakes to enjoy with my coffee. My door- bell rang quite often during that first week. Though I didn’t know them, they’ve since be- come good friends. It’s so nice to know that I’ll always have someone to talk to, someone who notices when I’m away, and always someone who will help when it is needed. The whole staff has been so friendly, available and courte- ous. There are so many opportunities here for those of us who enjoy volunteering. It’s the best place to live as a
