made for fun in downtown Sanger
By Dick Sheppard
Mid Valley Times
Sanger's annual downtown fes- tival "Farmers' Market and Street Faire" will kick off its 2019 season in just a little more than a week.
Does chamber of commerce CEO Tammy Wolfe have some- thing special lined up for the 5 p.m. Sept. 7 debut? "Our incred- ible Sanger High School Apache marching band and cheer squad will be there along with fire eat- ers, jugglers, a stilt walker, great dance music, yummy food and a beer garden featuring very spe- cial adult drinks. It's just a won- derful time to be under the stars having fun in downtown Sanger!"
So, the answer is a resounding "Yes!"
"It's going
to be 'Carni-
val Night" in
downtown
Sanger on
Sept. 7," said
Wolfe. "We're
expecting up
to 5,000 people to show up for our kickoff of the 2019 Farmers' Mar- kets season."
There will be a free downtown Farmers' Market every Saturday evening in September. "Each one will have a different theme," said Wolfe.
The Sanger Animal Shelter will bring its adorable adoptable dogs, each one hoping for a for- ever home, to every Farmers' Market, said shelter volunteer Kim Reed.
"In addition to the Farmers' Markets on Saturdays we'll have a special Monday event on Sept. 16 to commemorate Mexican In- dependence Day. There will be food booths and special music by the Latin Connection — and we'll have mechanical bull you can try to ride."
Wolfe is still looking for addi- tional vendors for all the down- town September events. For more information contact the chamber at (559) 875-4575.

The Kings River Con- servancy has installed 30 interpretive trail signs along the North Riverside Trail and with- in the Kings River Wild- life Management Area.
The signs are writ- ten in English, Spanish and Hmong and explain someofthenaturalflo- ra and fauna that can be found at the Kings River as well as give informa- tion about conservation, the river itself and the Pine Flat Dam.
“After many months of planning, research and design we are excit- ed to say the installation is complete,” said Mary Morris, education direc-
tor, Kings River Conser- vancy. “We hope these signs will add a special enjoyment to anyone who ventures along the North Riverside Trail and Wildlife Manage- ment Areas and that they will enlighten each guest to the many won- ders and conservation efforts that can be found attheKingsRiver.”
Individuals and fam- ilies using the trail and enjoying the river have already been reading the information found on the signs.
“We are grateful to those who have helped us to make this vision a reality,” said Morris.
