IHS football players to play in City/County All-Star Game

RHS Baseball
The Reedley High Pi- rates baseball team fought hard but fell to first place Fresno High on May 1 and May 4.
The Pirates lost to Fresno High 3-1 on May 1 in Fresno, then lost to the Warriors 4-1 on May 4 in Reedley.
No statistics were available for the games.
As of May 8, the Pi- rates were 12-11 overall and 4-4 in the NYL.
The Pirates played Hoover High on May 8 in Reedley. No score was available at presstime.
Reedley High will end the regular season on Thurs- day, May 10, at Hoover High.

The Tigers advanced to the second round of the playoffs against No. 5 seed Ohlone Col- lege on Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12, in Fremont.

The Reedley College Tigers men's golf team won the Northern California Championship on May 7 at Dragon Fly Golf Club in Madera. They qualified for the State Championships that take place on Monday, May 14, in Santa Barbara.

Jimenez had two RBIs, while Aunika Castellanos and Liliana Felix had one.
On May 5, the Tigers clinched the series with a 5-4 win.
Grimbleby earned her sec- ond win and had five strikeouts. Jimenez had three RBIs,
while Mickayla Villarreal and Sandra Vallejo each had one.
Jimenezhadabattingaverage of .485, with seven home runs and 46 RBIs for the Tigers this season. She also scored 46 runs.
She helped lead the Tigers to a Central Valley Conference Championship in 2018, the pro- gram's first title since 2015.
RC Baseball
The Reedley College Tigers baseball team's season ended on May 5 with a loss to Feather River College in the first round of the State Playoffs Northern Regional playoffs.
The Tigers lost the three- game series to Feather River College 2-1.
Reedley College ends the season with a 28-15 overall record.
The Tigers lost the first game of the best of three se- ries 7-6 in 12 innings on May 4.
Cooper Morrison had two RBIs, while Mitchell Craw- ford and Jackson Leach each had one
Reedley College, facing elimination, rebounded with a 9-5 win on May 5. This forced a deciding game three.
The Tigers lost the third game 11-5.
In the Tigers' 9-5 win, Evan Sagariballa was the winning pitcher.
Crawford and Leach had two RBIs, while Bake Hernan- dez had one.
The Central Valley Confer- ence announced its 2018 All-CVC teams and the Reedley College Tigers baseball team was well- represented.
Tigers pitchers Brady Bar- cellos and Sid Lacy, along with infielder Blake Hernandez and outfielder Cooper Morrison were named to the All-CVC First Team.
Morrison also was named the Most Valuable Gold Glove winner (best defensive player).
Kevin Page, Alec Akins were All-CVC Second Team se- lections.
Evan Sagariballa was an honorable mention.
Nick Martinez and Kevin Pager were Gold Glove winners.

Early Sign-ups: May 15th, 16th and 17th at Pioneer Park on ‘G’ Street in Reedley

Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Player Fee: $120 fee due at sign-ups.
Tryouts: July 16th – Aug 3rd (location and start time to be an- nounced)
Junior Division: 5th and 6th Grade. Maximum age is 12 years old Player cannot exceed 190 pounds.
Pee Wee Division: 3rd and 4th Grade. Maximum age is 10 years old Player cannot exceed 155 pounds.
Mighty Might Division: K thru 2nd. Ages 6 to 8 years old Player cannot exceed 115 pounds.
All Divisions: All Divisions: A participant’s age on December 1, 2018 determines the playing age.
All participants must provide a photocopy of their 2017-2018 FI- NAL report card, a photocopy of a primary health insurance card and a CURRENT wallet size photo. Scheduled JUNE dates will be announced to collect the copy of the FINAL report card.
The League requires an Original Certi ed birth certi cate at the time of contract certi cation. The original birth certi cate will be requested at a speci ed time in July. The original birth certi cate will be returned after the contract is cleared.
A sports physical is required for all divisions. If you cannot get a timely appointment from your doctor, suggested quali ed locations will be listed on the information sheet that will be at- tached to the player contract.
Player contracts and the doctor’s physical exam form are avail- able at the following locations: Foster Freeze on 11th Street and Reedley Pro-Script Pharmacy/Image at 1045 ‘G’ Street.

Martin said she is excited for the future at Holy Names University and was thrilled to have her family, friends, coach- es and former teammates in at- tendance at her ceremony.
“It means they will al- ways be there for me no mat- ter what. They will have my back,” Martin said. “I look forward to seeing them at the games. Go Hawks.”

Carissa Hall - Immanuel High Track and Field
Carissa Hall, Immanuel High track and eld athlete, won three events at the Central Sequoia League Championships on May 2. Hall won the the 200-meters with a time of 27.04 seconds and the 400-meters with a time of 1 minute, 1.42 seconds. Hall also won the 100-meter hurdles.
