some of them don't have a stimulus check. Some of them don't have an unemployment check."
Jim Franklin, pastor for the Cor- nerstone Church in Fresno, said the Cornerstone Community Cares pro- gram has provided food giveaways in the Valley for about 25 years, and twice had been involved with give- aways in Orange Cove in the wake of citrus freezes.
"We started right after shelter in place, so I think this is our sixth one," he said of the May 1 event. "We've been in Fresno, Madera, and in Hu- ron. We're here in Orange Cove, and then we'll be in Reedley next week. And we'll continue to do it, as long as we have those partners who will part- ner with us financially."
Gilbert Molina, CEO for CAAL, said the company's involvement in giving back to farmworkers and to society.
"Fifty percent of all the [ag] con- tractors in the state of California re- side here in the Valley. And I thought 'how do you bring them together?' They are essential workers," he said of farm laborers.
Volunteers from all three orga- nizations, along with the Orange Cove Fire Department and Police Explorers program, helped in pass- ing out food to people.

the cemetery ground level. That means fences and similar structures are strictly not allowed.
"It was a case where [displays around graves] kept getting bigger and more elaborate," Conrad said. "People are stick- ing a lot of decorations around the gravesites into the ground, which is prohibited." The district's cemetery flower policy specifically prohibits the unauthorized items with no exceptions.
"Decorative marbles, ceramic or metal deco- rations can become pro-
jectiles if they are hit by the trimmers while trim- ming the headstone and markers, or by the mow- ers while mowing," the policy states.
Conrad said the dis- trict is allowing people to set up to two potted plants or flowers onto the top of each headstone marker for gravesite dec- orations. After the June 1 deadline date, fences and structures deemed to be upright monuments will be removed. The present policy remains where items like mylar balloons, boxes, globes, shells, cans, jugs, bottles, lawn decorations and items on metal or wooden stakes
are prohibited. Those also will be removed for disposal by cemetery dis- trict personnel without compensation.
Conrad reminds the public that those pur- chasing graves/plots only purchase the right to designate who may be entered or entombed in that grave or plot, and not actually purchasing the site. That remains the property of the district, which also has responsi- bility for upkeep of the site.
If you have questions or wish more informa- tion on the policy, contact the Reedley Cemetery District at (559) 638-2731.
