More vaccination sites are being estab- lished in the county, with the new Sanger location at the Sanger Commu- nity Center getting a strong and steady num- ber of people making ap- pointments and getting shots. The vaccinations also continue in Reedley
at Reedley College, and the process has moved into the college's gym area.
A high toll remains. Deaths in the region have climbed to 1,571 people in Fresno County (an increase of 36 for the week) while Tulare Coun- ty deaths surpassed the 800 mark at 801. In Tu- lare County, recoveries have climbed to 47,519, more than 92 percent of all those infected.
School districts con- tinue to take steps to- ward normal instruction status. Dinuba, Reedley and Sanger high schools all plan to have season openers at their home fields on Friday, March 26. Orosi High will have its second football game, and home opener, also that night.

Blue lights to
commemorate
a year of virus
The front entrance to Adventist Health-Reedley was illuminated in blue lights the evening of March 19 to mark the one-year anniver- sary of the California lockdown for COVID-19. At 8 p.m., the front exteriors of all four of Adventist Health in the Central Valley hospi- tals (Hanford, Reedley, Selma and Tulare) shined blue lights in tribute to the anniversary. All four hospi- tals have treated COVID-19 pa- tients. Also at 8 p.m., a moment of silence and prayer was shared via the hospitals’ overhead announce- ment for employees, providers and visitors.

This process is actually continu- ous and ongoing; however, in the summer months after the seasonal rains, overgrown vegetation, can lead to a hazardous situation on both vacant and occupied properties.
An assessment of properties with- in the city limits will be conducted over the next few weeks, and letters will be sent out explaining that prop- erty owners are in violation of one or more of the following code sections:
• 2019 California Fire Code 304 “Waste Accumulation Prohibited”

Rubbish”
These violations can be anything
from tall weeds/grass and litter, to furniture (couches, mattresses), and piles of debris. The letter requires that the violations be cleared within 30 days of receipt of the letter.
Last year, the Dinuba Fire Depart- ment responded to a total of 28 calls for service regarding fires involving grass, brush, rubbish, and trash.
The department's goal is to get those numbers reduced to provide a safer community for everyone. The fire department thanks residents for their continuous help in this en- deavor.
