Dinuba Wrestling Club travels

the non-santioned high school event. JJ Martinez finished 1-2 while compet- ing in the 195 pound class. The club team, featuring wrestlers with the Dinuba High program, competed in December at a tourna- ment in Bullhead City, Ariz. At that event, Javier Hernandez won all five of his matches.

Kendricks helps FPU get first two PacWest victories

Former Reedley Col- lege basketball star Au- relie Bevao has played in four of the 13 games played by the 13-1 Idaho State University wom- en's basketball team this season.
The most recent win for the Bengals was a 62- 54 triumph over Grand Canyon in Phoenix on Friday.
Bevao, originally from Reunion, France, scored six points in 10 minutes in the Nov. 28 season opener over Utah State before netting two points in a win over We- ber State on Jan. 2.
She recorded a blocked shot in her last action on Jan. 14 against Sacramento State and had her only missed shot of the season against Northern Colorado on Dec. 16.

Immanuel High product Nate Kendricks started at guard and scored seven points, helping Fresno Pacific's men's basketball team improve to 2-0 in PacWest Conference play with an 89-80 overtime victory over Academy of Art on Jan. 30 at FPU's Special Events Center.

the Week, scored 23 points as the Sunbirds (2-3 overall) picked up the first two wins of the season and completed a weekend sweep of the Urban Knights (1-3 overall and in conference). A night ear- lier on Jan. 29, the Sunbirds held on for an 83-77 victory at Ke- zar Pavilion in San Francisco as Kendricks was one of four FPU players in double figures with 10 points.
In the second win, Kendricks
scored on a layup to give Fresno Pacific a seven-point lead with under five minutes remaining, but Academy of Art rallied to tie the game and force overtime. In the extra session, the Sunbirds sank a trio of three-point baskets to win going away.
The two team are scheduled to meet on Friday, Feb. 5, in Bel- mont. A rematch is set for Satur- day, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. in the FPU Special Events Center.
Reedley College women's golf opens season next week

Reedley College women's golf team, the lone athletic program competing for the college during this 2021 win- ter season because of COVID-19, will open the campaign with a Central Val- ley Conference preseason tournament next week.
The Tigers, who finished the season ranked No. 2 in the state after captur- ing the Big 8 Conference and Northern California championship in 2019, will participate in the Central Valley Con- ference preseason tournament at a lo- cation to be determined on Monday or Tuesday, Feb. 8 or 9. The official opener for RC will be at noon Thursday, Feb.

Only three teams are competing in the conference this season — the Tigers, Taft College and Bakersfield College. The remaining three teams competing in state this season are Southern California-based. College of the Canyons, the defending state champion, is opting out of playing this season.
