The California Highway Pa- trol is joining the American Oc- cupational Therapy Association (AOTA) in recognizing Dec. 6-10, 2021, as Older Driver Safety Awareness Week.
The CHP is reminding the most experienced drivers on California’s roadways that offi- cers are here to help keep them safe behind the wheel.
According to the AOTA, “We all experience physical and men- tal changes as we get older, even though they may be so gradual we barely notice them. Yet com- mon changes like slower reaction time, night blindness, and pain and stiffness can have a big ef- fect on our driving skills.”

• An attempted theft of a cat- alytic converter from a city vehicle was reported at 7:46 a.m. in the 400 block of East El Monte Way.
• The theft of a catalytic con- verter was reported at 8:49 a.m. in the 300 block of J Street.
• An injury traffic collision was reported at 1:21 p.m. in the 40500 block of Road 80. • Vehicle burglary was re- ported at 1:58 p.m. in the 1400 block of Foothill Avenue.

• Theft was reported at 3:48 p.m. in the 700 block of West El Monte Way.
• The theft of bee boxes was reported at 5:36 p.m. at Av- enue 416 and Road 92.
• An unsupervised fire in a parking lot was reported at 7:01 p.m. in the 1400 block of South O Street.
• Vandalism to a front screen door was reported at 7:05 p.m. in the 200 block of North K Street.
