The Dinuba High and Sanger High boys basketball teams claimed tournament championships last week, with the Emperors (4-1) winning three of four games at the Kingsburg Invitational and the Apaches (5-2) went 3-1 at the Nordhoff Tournament in Ojai. Both tournaments were played Dec. 1-4.
Dinuba tied Nipomo and Hanford in pool play with 2-1 records, but advanced to the finals by virtue of point dif- ferential. The Emperors then received 18 points from Isaiah Martinez and 11 points from tourney MVP Kiene Prendez to defeat Stockdale in the champi- onship game. Martinez helped preserve the lead with 10 points in the quarter.
