Blanca Echeveste was called to be with
the Lord on April 13, 2020. She passed away at
home surrounded by her family, due to complications of pneumonia, and other health problems. She was born in Fresno, Ca. on January 8, 1966, when she was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome. She was the youngest of six children. Blanca attended Monte Vista School in Reedley from kindergarten, up to the 8th grade. After this she lived with her mom in Leon Gto. Mexico for 10 years. She was able to travel to Acapulco and to Cancun with her mom. After her mom’s passing, Blanca came to live with her sister Becky Rodriguez in Reedley for 22 years, until her passing.
She started attending the ARC PROGRAM in October of 2000. Blanca was a special person with a twinkle in her eye and a smile for everyone. She loved to introduce herself to people by saying “Hi, I am Blanca.”
Blanca enjoyed drinking Pepsi and eating chips, her favorite food was mole. She also enjoyed watching western movies, listening to music and coloring books, all at the same time. She loved music and attending family parties. Thank you Maggie and Rosa for always inviting her.
Blanca is proceeded in death by her parents Casimira and Timoteo Echeveste. She is survived by her sister, Becky Rodriguez, brother-in-law David Rodriguez, four brothers, all from Reedley, and several nieces and nephews.
I would like to thank the Reedley ARC staff for making her life so enjoyable. Blanca loved attending her program it was an important part of her life. She got to participate in special Olympics while at the ARC. She took pride in “working” there, where she had lots of special friends. Blanca attended the ARC, until February of this year, 2020. She also loved to attend Calvary Apostolic Church in Dinuba, where she would attend Sunday School. She loved to sing during the church worship service.
I would like to thank my husband David, my daughters Sandra and Veronica for their help and support they gave me during Blanca’s last days. Thank the Ardent Hospice for the kindness, and compassion they showed our family during these last days and Blanca’s Dr. Agustine Rubio.
Due to the pandemic a memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Blanca’s beautiful life.
