Public Parks
Quezon City is building a network of parks
and open spaces accessible to the public
as part of its goal to build a livable, green,
and sustainable city. This project entails
mass development of community parks,
linear parks, pocket parks, green walls and
roof gardens. This will be done to
pedestrian alleys and corridors that will
create a web of green spaces.
Total of 311 identified parks and open
spaces owned by the City; of these,
226 have been developed into parks,
85 remain undeveloped.
In the last 3 years, 12 new parks added
to the inventory
6 new open spaces suitable for
development were identified and
added
For the next three years, 58 new parks
and open spaces is set for
development:
3 community parks
7 linear parks
28 pocket parks
8 GORA lanes
9 pedestrian alleys
3 green walls / vertical gardens
The Impact of One Million Native Trees
1 million trees absorb approx. 24,000
tons of carbon dioxide each year
1 million trees offset the entire
carbon footprint of 1,087 people
