The problem Jahangirpuri was an area severely hit by the pandemic. With wage losses and economic distress due to the lockdown, Radha, a day-wager from EE Block Jahngirpuri, had to withdraw her children from the private school in which they were studying, as she could no longer afford the school fee. The loss of her job meant that soon, Radha had exhausted all her savings on buying food for her family. She lived in a constant state of anxiety, worrying about her children’s future. When the pandemic hit, I thought the process of making our community a better place would stop.
