The problem In 2020, heavy and continuous rainfall for five days led to the waterlogging of homes, spread of diseases and transportation problems. The problem was exacerbated due to the metro construction work that was on-going in the area. The ‘jalbharav’ or flooding was so bad that people could not leave their homes even for essential activities such as buying food. There was no space for people to stand inside their homes and entire bedrooms had to be shifted out. Save the Children has given us the confidence to speak and present our concerns to adults and even to the authorities! Through this, we were able to effect change for our community. We now know that we must take action to keep ourselves and our community safe and healthy. – Shivam The action and child protection and to resolve the issues pertaining to the safety of children.
