  Denford Poppies
To commemorate the end of the First World War 100 years ago and to remember all those who gave their lives, Denford Village has marked
this special time with a ‘Poppy Installation’. Not as grand as the ceramic poppies of the Tower but just as stunning in its own special way. Villagers, and others, have knitted, crocheted and whittled over 2000 poppies. These will be displayed at the church for all to see. There will be refreshments served on each Saturday for the duration of the display.
As a village, we want to send any monies raised to Headley Court, a military rehabilitation unit, so a small remuneration for refreshments will be charged. However, any donations towards this worthy cause will be gratefully received.
A special remembrance service will be held at the village memorial on Sunday 11th November, and after at the church. So, please come along and marvel at the wonderful poppies our village and friends have made.
Poppy display over the weekend commencing 3rd/4th November 2018, 10th/11th November Remembrance weekend and Saturday 17th November. Refreshments will be available on Saturdays from 12 noon till 4pm, with the usual coffee and teas before the church service on Sundays.
