For 30th Signal Regiment, also known as The Globetrotters, the past year has been nothing short
of extraordinary, marked by triumphs in Sport and Adventurous Training and behind the scenes.
Following a brief period early in the year with no RAPTCI, the unit saw a 6-month assignment for Sgt (SI) Lee Knight. Lee’s appointment injected fresh energy into the Regiment and he was the main driving force behind a Physical Training Equipment (PTE) uplift, transforming one of the two Sports Halls into a new Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Suite, which allowed the Regiment to conduct the Army Physical Training System (APTS) safely and efficiently.
Following the successful 6-month period, Sgt Knight moved onto his ERI Course, which paved the way for SSgt (SSI) Thomas Carlin to be assigned. SSgt Carlin continued Sgt Knight’s positive work by restructuring Physical Training to make best use of the new PTE and S&C Suite, introducing a structured Level 1 and 2 Physical Training Programme (PTP) tosupportServicePersonnel’s(SP’s) return to Level 3 and to reinvigorate the Gamecock Barracks Swimming Pool.
