leave. ATC(P) now has four large training areas with state-of-the-art PTE including brand new squat racks, bars, wall balls, slam balls, kettlebells and sledges: thus, giving the recruit the best experience and opportunity to be successful in developing physical fitness within Basic Training.
Sgt (SI) E Fitzpatrick RAPTC – 1 ATR. I successfully transferred into the RAPTC in June 22 and was extremely lucky to be posted to ATC(P) as a mainstream Sergeant Instructor, I have now been in post for almost two years, and it has been nothing short of an amazing experience with a very steep learning curve.
To now be responsible for all the MS and G1 requirements for up to 16 AAPTI it has been an exciting challenge and definitely allowed me the opportunity to grow as a RAPTCI and also as an individual. Having your own subordinates who rely on you for so much is something I believe every new RAPTCI should have the opportunity to go through.
Taking on the challenge of organising and delivering my first ever skiing expedition for the entirety of ATC(P) and allowing the members of the training teams the opportunity the chance to go away to the Austrian Alps to take part in either Ski-Foundation 1 or 2 gaining a new qualification and enhancing their own skills and developing further. It also meant a tremendous amount of experience for
me, learning all the intricacies of taking on such a challenge. This I will take forward with me on my career when I leave Pirbright and add further value to future units.
Along with all these roles and responsibilities the task of assuring all CMS lessons for ATC(P) and implementing changes in order to better both our staff delivery and also the lessons and their structure for the overall betterment of CMS delivery. I could not think of a better posting to prepare a Sgt in the RAPTC to become an extremely capable SSI at a Field Force unit.
Sgt (SI) A Levy RAPTC – 2 ATR. Having transferred into the RAPTC in June 23, I was subsequently assigned ATC (P) as a mainstream instructor. The unit is the perfect place to develop and hone skills

required of a standalone instructor in the Field Force, but in a safe environment under the keen and watchful eye of the TWO and MAA.
As the RAPTCI for 2 ATR, I am responsible for the management of 12 AAPTIs. My role includes POC for the CoC on all matters PD and the link between Soldier Academy and delivery of the CMS. My other roles include sport secretary and the Centre’s lead for RAPTC Selection, where we conduct weekly training and delivery of pre-selection, to develop those with the intention of transferring.
ATC(P) is a great place to come, whether an RAPTCI or an AAPTI, with incredible development opportunities and fantastic work/life balance.
